In the middle of all the other things going on, Sunflower
Days was starting at the Pope Farms Conservancy. The girls wanted to come along (and so did
Kris’s friend and her daughter and granddaughter) this year, so the only day we
could work it in was Sunday. There were
a few problems with planting the field this year because of the rain this
spring, so the full bloom is a little later than last year, but at least they
were able to come back. We spent a
little over an hour, walking around, looking at the sunflowers, and other wild
flowers and taking pictures. The day was
almost perfect, not too hot, not very humid, and not raining. The only drawback was that the day was a
little hazy/overcast, but that is probably one thing that helped keep the heat
down.
