Staying Put?

So with all the things that have been flying back and forth over the last couple of weeks, it now appears that Bob doesn’t have to move from his apartment at his current facility.  So after going thru the hassle of looking for assisted living facilities with memory care units that accept Family Care residents, and beginning to pack up belongings and renting a storage locker for things until we can figure out what is happening, it looks like it was all for nothing.  I am not sure if we should be relieved or angry.

I will say that having the ombudsman advocating on behalf of Kris’s dad is helpful at least because it allows us to not have to be the ones fighting with the facility director in addition to researching rules and regulations all while trying to find a new place for him to live.  I will say that if he does end up staying there, I still want to keep looking for a different place for him.  I have a strong feeling that with how his quality of care had been declining, it won’t be getting better anytime soon (and may just get worse).  So this may be a stopgap for now, but I am not sure if this is the long term solution that we want.
